In October, we enjoyed Richard Keen’s talk about important old buildings in Wales. Richard worked with the National Trust for many years and was involved in the preservation of many buildings, such as Newton House in Dinefwr Park and Llanerchaeron, near Aberaeron.

November’s meeting was our AGM, where we elected new officers. Rosemary Richardson replaces Rosemary Edwards as President (Rosemary Edwards will be Vice-President). Madge Pratt is the new Treasurer, replacing Avis Morris and Linda Harrison takes over from Mary Thomason as Secretary. Many thanks to Rosemary E, Avis and Mary for their hard work over the last 3 years.

It has been an interesting year for us and next year should be just as good with some interesting talks already planned. These include:

Building Your Own House;

Victorian Costume;

The Effect of the American Civil War on the Cotton Industry in Derbyshire.

Trips are yet to be decided.

We are looking forward to our Christmas Lunch at The Porth Hotel in December.

From January, feel free to come along to any of our meetings held in the Pavilion on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

We will always be glad to see you.
