The morning of Sunday 23rd June dawned bright and sunny however the forecast was not good for the afternoon. The Pavilion Committee had done a super job of preparing the field for the event so that games and other outdoor activities could be held. The Coconut Shy, Clock Golf and Splat the Rat were set up and lines marked out for the sports events.
Parents and children started arriving and games etc. got underway until the rain came down an hour later. A couple of the games could be enjoyed indoors so were taken into the Pavilion. It was such a shame as all who came were prepared to take part in something on the field and be rewarded for their efforts.
The Strawberries and Cream went down well too. The Regeneration Group says a huge thank you to all those individuals who helped make the afternoon such a success, whether they had donated refreshments, cakes, raffle prizes, money or given of their time, we are most grateful. Thanks must also go to the local shops – they are always willing to display a poster and help out when they can.
It was a fun afternoon which will be repeated next year.
